I have been waiting all weekend to post this thread! Kolbjørn got called out to the farm on Friday night, and just finally got home a few hours ago. The sheep were in labor!!! There are 6 new lambs, and KB come home with only 2 pics!! The nerve!! They were all born last night (Saturday) So here is their next day pics, not even 24 hours old. 2 of the lambs and 2 more The reason he got called in is they all decided to give birth outside. He let them do what comes natural, but he was on preditor bird guard duty, until he could get them rounded up and into barn for protection.
That is so neat. their cute. We had friends that had horses and we got the privilage of watching babies being born, it was amazing.
Absolutely adorable! I know what you mean about predator bird duty...we have eagles around us and my friend (who just recently brought home a tiny shih tzu puppy) is on watch at all times when the pup is outside. Big dogs, like my newfie, are safe!
Great fotos Biita. Lambing is such a wonderful thing to watch. They are such cute little things, aren't they? Ok thee were only two pics, but these are great to see! Thank you both.
cute Those are some cute little boogers! We have some raptors in these parts, but they are usually only dangerous to prairie dogs (yes, we got 'em). Small animals in the country have to be guarded against coyotes. People lose small dogs & cats to coyotes in the country fairly often. If we ever move to the country, I will build a wire-topped dog run to keep the coyotes out & away from my Chinese pugs.
They are so cute!! And believe me he got the message for more pics. I just texted him telling him the Stew demands more pics,,(bless his heart) When he come home yesterday he ate dinner, bathed, then passed out until this morning! I told him i bet he didn't know giving birth was so tiring..lol. He also said all night the ravens and crows watched, then the falcons, hawks and he thought he saw an eagle circling near morning. Not to mention the ferrets, minks and so forth were probably waiting. But their all safe now. I know they look like goats but honestly they are called Nordland Sheep, the farm doesn't have any goats at all there.
Lambing season! It's a wonderful time of year for those of us who get to visit the cuties after the hard work is done. Thank your husband for the photos, Biita. Adorable lambs.
