My decorating is nothing like what I used to do. I had a closet filled with boxes of stuff to put out but the last few years I gave away most of it and put some of the keepsakes in boxes for my girls. Then I kind of started over but with a much tighter rein on my accumulating.

I bought a Charlie Brown tree a few years ago and that was our tree for a while. This year it has been moved to the dining room. The snowman on the left looks sort of like he is surprised by what he sees next to him.

The plant shelf along the window are two shutters hung with chain, I have to be find something nicer looking than chain though. We have a western cabin look going in the livingroom, that's why there are a couple of boots hanging around.

Hi Toni, I love the Charlie Brown tree, but my eyes were drawn to the essential oils. Wow! I wish I had that many...you must make beautiful smelling something-or-others??? :D The poinsettias look festive too.

Thanks for the comments, my decorating style is unique to say the least. An interior decorator would run screaming and pulling their hair out if they stepped into our house but you know me and I wouldn't have invited them in anyway.;)

If cozy is a code word for tiny, then yeah it's cozy to the max.

Kathy, I tend to collect more than I need. But I use them in soaps, shampoos and I want to try making lotion too. The bottles on the left end of the bottom shelf are Bach Floral Remedies that really work for me.

Since they only come out once a year I like to think that each has their own story and they bring back a nice family memory. Half the fun of decorations is setting them up. I never knew they made Charlie Brown trees. :)

Your place is looking very festive. The planter shelf looks great with its Poinsettias. I've never heard of a Charlie Brown tree ... that's a new one for me!

I'm afraid there are no decorations at my place this year. I've sort of lost interest over the years since our two boys moved out of home. We're usually not here for Christmas anyway, as we travel south to be with my eldest and my grandchildren. I know it's a litte bit Bah, humbug! not to have the house decorated.

Bernieh, visiting with loved ones is a lot more important than a few strands of garland. You aren't "Bah, humbug" at all!
Toni, you are still an enabler. After seeing your decorations in your cozy home, I went out in the freezing cold (45 degrees) and put garland and red bows on our entry fence, put a swag by the front door, and hung greenery between the front windows. Now I'm thawing out.

I didn't decorate at all last year and just the Charlie Brown tree for a couple of years before that.

Bernieh, Charlie Brown is a comic strip character that has been very popular in daily newspapers here since late 1950 and in 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas animated story was first aired on TV and has been every year since then.
The Charlie Brown tree is the one he finds to use in the school play, he chose it because it was very sad and lonely looking.

They first went on sale about 5 years ago at one or two stores but this year they are everywhere.

Aahh, thanks Toni. It is a rather sad little tree. Now I've spotted yours in the top photo.

Thanks Marlin ... being with our family at Christmas time is definitely top of the list for us.

My niece & her husband used to buy they stragliest, ugliest little tree they could find. Now that they have 2 kids, they get a nice tree. But... they do have a Charlie Brown Tree too!
And Toni... cozy doesn't mean tiny (at least not to me). I think cozy is that warm fuzzy feeling you get all over!

Thanks Cheryl. Many years ago I visited the home of one of our landladies many times and really like the feel of the rooms in her home....and recently realized that I was recreating that feeling in our home.

My grandmother always bought trees that could be called scraggly...she said it was so the ornaments would hang properly but we all believed it was because she was cheap

I like your decorations. They're full of personality and probably reflects you to a T. :D In my book cozy is the feeling you get when you're happy with how things are. It's a nice feeling, isn't it?
