Okra for cool climates

    EJ mentioned that she hadn't had good luck with okra, and thought that the UK didn't have the necessary heat. There is a variety of okra, Pentagreen, which was bred for cooler climates. It does well in Wisconsin in the US, and while it isn't as prolific as the Southern varieties, it does produce well (the Southern varieties will smother you in okra pods!).
    Sandhill Preservation has seeds of Pentagreen http://www.sandhillpreservation.com/catalogas do others, I'm sure, but I only know of this one source.
