Our refridgerator/freezer went out this evening. This is the same one that cost me $160 to have repaired back in Nov. We took a plastic garbage can, put about 18 inches of snow in the bottom of it. Then a clean garbage bag. Our milk eggs etc in it that and it's on the back porch. The frozen stuff is in the big freezer on the back porch. We went into Home Depot tonight and bought a new GE refridgerator. Got 10% off plus a 2 year extended warranty for $60. So that wasn't too bad. They will deliver it Fri and haul away the old one.

What a pity we can't see into the future CK. Maybe then you wouldn't have had to spend the $160 dollars back in November. I hope your new refrigerator arrives soon.

This last fall we got a new upright freezer after 28 years with our old chest freezer. What a delight. Every time I go out and see the neat organization and light bulb I can't help but grin. Modern conviences are soooooo nice. Having the old clunker hauled away was nice too.

What ticked me off is that the fridge is onlt 7 years old. And It was a $1200 unit when we bought it. We have a Sears washer/dryer that we have had for 5 years and we have had to have the dryer worked on 4 times already.

They don't make appliances (or anything else for that matter) like they used to. My mother had a washer that was 22 years old. I'm quite sure that was one of the exceptions though. I had to replace a washer/dryer, dishwasher and hot water heater last year. Keeping :fingerscrossed: for this year!

A new fridge...good for you Capt! That's what I will need next I think. The one I have came with the house and we have been here 7 years. Things are falling off it and it is starting to make funny noises. I really can't wait until it quits...is there any way I can speed up the process? LOL
