Hubby brought home an old ice cream maker.... well... just the wooden part... all the "workings" are missing. I want to put a plant in it. I did an online search for plants named "ice cream" but only found a tulip. Do any of you know a plant that is called that? Or any suggestions for it?
Rosa 'Ice Cream' and others that might work Rosa 'Iceberg' Rosa 'Climbing Iceberg' Rosa 'Strawberries and Cream'
Toni... It's not very big (I'll get photos and measurements when I get home) so I don't think it'll hold a rose. Jane... I have tons of Ice Plants already... unless I can find a different kind. Thanks for in the input!
If it's a standard 5 quart maker, then the mini Strawberries and Cream would fit nicely since it only gets 18-24 inches tall. Have you searched for flowers with names that would be ingredients for making ice cream....vanilla, cream, sugar, eggs, milk. Or maybe your favorite flavor of ice cream...chocolate (which brings to mind Chocolate Cosmos or Chocolate Vine), Strawberries.
The ice cream maker is 14 inches tall and 10 inches wide at the top (a little smaller at the base). I looked online for Rosa Ice Cream and seems it's only available in the UK... or at least that's all I spotted. And I don't really have a favorite ice cream flavor... I love them all! I'll do some more searching. And thanks again!
That does sound good! I also found a Tulip called 'Ice Cream'.... it's gorgeous, but a little hard to come by. Thanks Toni... you've given me a good starting point.
Cheryl, try something with "Blue Bell" in the name! For you non-Texans, Blue Bell Creamery makes delicious ice cream in Brenham, Texas, "the place cows call heaven". They have great ads. One is a driver opening the back of his big truck and there are about a half dozen cartons of ice cream. The tag line is "We eat all we can and deliver the rest."
