Hi Chocolate, Bet you are happy to see Spring happen. My first thought was, Oh, Winter is coming for us..... :'( I always love to see your pictures. Barb in Pa.
I think I'll come over to your place. We had such a wet and dismal spring (not to mention summer) that I could easily go through another one this year. It's so good to see all your spring blooms. I love those African daisies. :-D
Chocolate, Those are all beautiful. What is the nighttime temperatures where you are for the winter season? do these plants and flowers make it through the winter outside or do you need to replant them in the spring?
Beautiful Spring blooms. Hope you have a great growing season with lots of wonderful blooms to show us.
I always look forward to your photos... you have some of the most unusual beautiful flowers... like those African Daisies! Can't wait to see everything throughout your Springtime.
It is always a pleasure to see your spring in Australia. As a world wide community we benefit from many seasons twice a year. Your daisies are really eye-catchers. Jerry
Good morning and thankyou everyone for the nice comments. Carolyn..there is no bringing in..taking out... going on here, except a few of my bulbs like hippies etc, so I can take them to show off at my garden clubs...like this orchid Dendrochilum cobbianum ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) The perfume is very sweet, there must be about 1,000 flowers on the plant, it flowers late autumn to spring, not very common here and always attracts attention. Plants stay in the ground all year, it makes me feel so tired when I read what is happening at your place during the cold season...only true gardeners would go to that trouble! The temperature at night here is about 11c/50f and has been for about 3-4 weeks, the days are about 24c. It really is a nice time of the year, when summer comes in December it is too hot for some flowers and for us too! ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden )
All your flowers are very interesting and beautiful,..and that Dendrochilum cobbianum,..is a real eye opener,
Congratulations on your spring. Our corn flowers are blooming now. Usually they bloom in summer, but with the low temps they decided to wait. And at your place they're spring bloomers? Amazing.
But wait theres more.... my peanuts are drying in the frangipani tree which has no leaves yet, First ever peanut crop ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) The hippieastrums are in bud Hippie buds ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) The anthurium is flowering in the shadehouse Anthurium ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) This poor little ground cover violet is bravely reminding us that spring is here. Native violet ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Cabbages are ready ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Should have planted more silverbeet, will do that this week. chocolate, So glad your flowers are coming up for they are especially beautiful but that also gives me some sadness for I am headed for Winter. Barb in Pa.
Chocolat--I am enjoying your spring blooms. In NE US, my garden is heading for bed soon. I love your African diasies. Very unusual. Are they perennial in Australia? Your orchid is to die for! How old is it? Congrats on your blue ribbon!
