We went and got our marriage license yesterday. We filled out the forms online, and then went to the County Clerk office for the signing and documentation. My California family fly in on the 8th October, we get married on the 10th. Just our kids and grandkids...not all of Ron's kids, not all of my grandkids, due to Covid and medical or travel issues. For example, his oldest daughter and son in law will have to quarantine from their work for two weeks if they travel out of state (not work at home jobs) and that won't work for them. Three of my grands live with their grandmother and she has health issues and is strictly quarantined and she doesn't want the girls potentially exposed and to bring anything back to her. Etc. Two of my 5 kids who live together are also strictly quarantining, so though they will attend, they'll do so from across the yard or they'll stay in their car or something....I'll leave that to them. Regardless, I am grateful that all of my kid will be in attendance in some fashion. Plus we've had many requests from friends and extended family for a video feed, so we'll either zoom it or do a FaceTime live video...something so that those who want to can watch it in real time. The only thing I've really been stressing about is the weather. I want to have the ceremony outside on the lawn. We have an amazing iron arch that would look so cool decorated and placed over the wooden path linking the main house to the tiny house. But obviously that can't happen if it's raining, in which case we'll have it on the back porch, which isn't tall enough for the arch. And if it's raining AND really cold, then we'll open up the french doors that lead out onto the porch, and sort of span both areas. BUT!!! Today I was finally able to view the extended forecast for Nashville that includes Saturday, and it's supposed to be 75 AND SUNNY!! Couldn't ask for better! Of course, we know how fickle the weather is, so I'm not exhaling yet, but it does bode well! Wow. I'm really doing this! Pushing 70 and getting married again! Who knew??

Congrats on reaching this stage. Fingers crossed for the rest. You said, "pushing 70"--but it is never too late in life if its the right person.
Ronni, I want to wish the two of you years of a happy marriage. It seems just yesterday you were facing the choice of , "Shall we move in together?" You did and look how much contentment you have enjoyed, and now marriage. Congratulations and best wishes for continued blessings.
How exciting is this then! Just a couple of days now. You have told a little about your wedding, but where in the Nashville area will you actually have the ceremony? Fingers crossed for good weather. Oh yes...do post some pics or vids of this momentus event please.
Ronni, are you within Nashville city limits? I have a niece and some nephews in the area of Lyles and Centerville, about 40 miles from Nashville. The farm my sister and brother-in-law had, a lot of acreage. Both are gone and their children have just sold it. Sorry, I got off topic. Two days and counting. Bless you both with a lovely day for this special memory.
