I'm doing Christmas baking, wearing shorts and sandals, with the kitchen windows and screen door open.
I can happily sing along with I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas because I know there is very little chance of having one!
After 25 years in the north, shoveling snow and seeing horizontal blizzards, this shorts/sandals/70 degree temperature thing ain't all that bad! :smt114

OK Jane rub it in while I shiver and shake in minus 3 temperatures!! Even in summer the weather here isn't always as warm as what you're getting.

Jane... I may come and visit. It isn't frigid here, but the fire is burning in the woodstove and the heater is on in the greenhouse. I would love to bake in my shorts and a t shirt. As it is I am in long sleeves, longjohns, a skirt, a sweatshirt, an apron, wool socks and my shoes and I am in the greenhouse starting seeds today.

Y'all are free to remind me of this post when we in the South are sweltering in triple digits in July.

DH and I were raised in west central Texas but was moved north by the military and stayed. Decided to move back south when we turned 60+. The 3rd year we lived there we had 100+ days of over 100 degrees and headed back north. I appreciate our cold winters now. I can do indoor things in the winter and play outside in 50 to 80's in the summer. Better than trying to weed and dead head flowers with a flashlight at night when the creepy crawlies are out.

To cold for t-shirts and shorts here. But that's ok as long as I don't have to fight the snow.

We all have our likes and dislikes...I will keep complaining about the bitter cold when we get it and all of the snow ....
when it is warm here we have our air conditioning on all summer in case someone decides to burn leaves, garbage,or spray their lawn with chemicals, etc...not many days we can open windows and enjoy the fresh air..

I had mentioned to my cousin who lives outside of Chicago that it was not much fun roasting a turkey in 80+ weather during the holidays. She replied, " Oh you poor baby!".
I need to be more careful what I say.

there are times I look for a way to show distaste for a particular posting. This past Friday, I worked outside, in the rain, in 40 degree F temps.................for 12.3 hours. Wool socks, wet, wool shirt, wet, boots, wet, gloves, wet, skin, chapped and wet, bones, wet. Then I read a post about baking, in shorts, and a T-shirt,..................

Not serious Miss Jane, just really disliking the current weather in this part of the country.

If it makes you feel any better FBG, I have worked out in the garden in wet jeans, wet tee shirt, wet garden shoes, and wet hair, and IT WASN'T RAINING!
My mama always said ladies "glowed" and didn't "sweat." I've come close to drowning in my "glow".
