Ospreys are back

    They nest here each year and they have returned. Saw them fishing at the lagoon so called in at the nest on the way home. osprey1.jpg

    Such regal birds! Thank you for the great photo. We had an osprey, just once, come into the ashe juniper outside our kitchen window and perch for a while. So thrilling--such a big bird with such an "official" face.

    Superb photograph Kildale of one of the handsomest birds of prey. We have a few protected sites here in Scotland for Ospreys and they seem to be doing well. Sadly, up until a few years ago, their eggs were being stolen by so called 'collectors.' Now if anyone is found trying to raid the nests they face a stiff fine or a term behind bars.
