When we were taking the saguaro picture we took a few other pictures. Not all of them turned out. But here are a couple. The first is DR with cholla, sometimes called jumping cholla. If you happen to walk too close the vibrations make the little balls fall (jump) off. If you get a spine in you it's very painful and it turns red and swells. I stepped on one once and the spines went through my shoe sole and into my foot. Yikes!!! The next is a prickly pear cactus with me standing by it. It is a small patch. They can get quite huge and take over large areas. The pads can be eaten and I have made jelly out of the fruit. I took a picture of a staghorn but it was too blurry. If we get a chance we are going to go down by Wickenburg and get some pictures of Joshua Trees. They are an ancient tree. Dooley
Thanks again Dooley we are blessed to get to enjoy all these wonders from your photos ,as I will never get to go to these places but through the pictures I can visit anyway.
Gosh the only time I've seen cacti like those they were in the Royal Botanic Gardens hothouse. Stunning photographs Dooley.
