I read and subscribe to a number of music and audio equipment boards. One is devoted to antique radios. In the twenties and thirties particularly, there were hundreds of companies, collectively making millions of radios. As much work went into making attractive cabinets as into the actual electrical content. Subscribers to this board spend hours restoring these radios, getting them back into working and cosmetic order. No VHF just short, medium and long wave at best, but that's not important. Here's an example.
You enjoy yourself with various interests and gives you more to talk about for one thing...cannot beat hobbies and whatever form they come in is good to be busy generally I believe.. I belong to some hobby ones also and there is always some interesting posts with information... I do love reading and at the moment I am engrossed in the History of Ireland going back to 1200BC, written in a light way but the history is all there, photos highlighting and making the story so alive again. One day this person will be acknowledged, but his books remain unpublished like thousand and thousands of others..
