Hi all: The weekend of Aug. 27th threw the 29th we took a trip to Galena, Ill. It's on the bluffs by the Mississippi river with some beautiful views. Here are a few pic's. I have more written and more pic's on my blog page as to why it was a doggy vacation. We stayed at Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort with a breath taking view. View of Lodge as we rode up on the ski lift. A beautiful end to a wonder trip.. ( photo / image / picture from Tooty2shoes's Garden )
Netty yes I do ski. But only Cross country. I like to see the scenery as I ski along. I just don't want to go as fast as they do down a hill with only two narrow boards attached to my feet. Cross Country can be challenging enough for me. I Love the peace and quite you have as you quietly glide along.
Lovely views,..and delighted you enjoyed yourself,..now to visit your Blog to see why it was a Doggy vacation,
I just had to tell you that I thought the countryside views at the Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort are breathtaking. You had such wonderful scenery to enjoy on your trip to Galena. I loved the sunset and, as you said, it was the perfect thing to end your trip with. Now I'm off to see your blog entry too.
Eileen, and Philip glad you enjoyed the pic's and blog entry. Philip we would love to see where those miners came from in Cornwall, England. I love all the older history you have in your country. We often see show's on TV threw the Public broadcasting station. We also like watching Rick Steve's travel shows of Europe and the surrounding countries.
Hi Tooty2shoes, Cornwall and Devon have some lovely old villages,..beautiful stonework,..you would enjoy seeing the villages,..not forgetting the beaches,..the coast there is referred to as the Jurassic Coast. Visited your Blog,..Woof Woof,..
Philip: sounds wonderful. Several years ago we traveled to the Czech republic and saw some wonderful small towns with cobble stone streets and beautiful old buildings that were centuries old. We loved it.
A great view to have on a vacation. I love hearing snippets of history that I would otherwise never hear. Three cheers for the dog and your good fortune. Great pictures. Jerry
Great to see a fellow globe trotter,..below is a YouTube video of part of Cornwall,..you could sit on a hill and have fun watching how on earth the traffic manages to move at all,..streets soooo narrow. Cornwall Video
