Here's a snapshot of our first winter squash harvest. Always wanted to grow them and finally had a go. We grew them in a large container which I think resulted in smallish fruits, but still good enough. Next time I think we will grow them in the ground and run vertically up supports. Crown Prince and Uchi Kiri
I know these, mate. Chapeau for your harvest. I have never grown them in containers, only in the ground with and without climbing racks.
Thank you and here's looking forward to 2021. I can't wait to get the seed catalogue out this winter and pick out a handful of these crazy looking fruits to try out. Maybe go for the smaller ones if we're going to grow skywards
What was the reason for not buying seeds ? Does the Gov. plan to give them to you ? Doesn`t make sense !
Mart, if you can figure that one out, you have a better brain than I do! Needless to say, I bought seeds. I'm old enough to not need parental consent.
Well,, I am well old enough to buy whatever I want ! They can count the wrinkles if they need proof ! I have never heard of restricting seed purchases in the continental U.S !
IN my humble opinion our Gov, is odd! Which is why we are in the process of RE-calling her. She seems to have a King complex. The excuse given was about social distancing, scads of people clamoring for seeds, as if we never bought seeds and know how to behave. People were allowed to empty the shelves of paper products, but not seeds? So, being adults (VERY adult, mentioning wrinkles!)we chose to go ahead with our lives and buy seeds!
