This makes me sad. This was Hemi, she died this winter at the tender age of 6 months. We never were able to hold her or touch her. Her mom (as well as Elgie, Grady and Baby's) was killed and we trapped Elgie and Hemi to save them from fishers. I think she had heart issues and while trying to get her to the vet she died in my arms.

Moosie and Elgie, Moose always looks like someone just peed in his cat food.

Bobbie, Moose and Dude are registered Maine Coons. "The Grays" (as we call them), Grady, Baby and Elgie are all rescues from the patio. We housed Mama Gray (totally feral) in a doghouse and fed her, along with her brood(s), but only ever managed to get close to Baby and Grady, even Elgie won't come near us. They are all indoor 100% other than Grady. He is an in/out cat....tho he is usually only outside for an hour each morning, then he is in for the day and night.

We think we had fishers here and that they killed the kittens and cats. There is now only one outdoor cat, but I've not seen him for a day or two.

Fisher,..Martes pennanti,..the first time i came across mention of this creature was in PA,..USA,..it was a wooded area and known to have Fishers,..looks Feline but is not,..sort of resembles a Tasmanian Devil in shape and colour,..it is of the Weasel Family,..the Female can grow to about 36 inches and the Male about 47 inches,..they will eat rabbits and other small creatures,..including cats,..but fruit is a great part of the diet.

Thank you for looking at our family! We love them all!

Bobbie and Moose are brothers, much to Moosie's dismay. Bob is short for Bobblehead, he was born with a head shake, it is now under control but it reappears during times of stress.

Moose idolizes Dude and follows him around like a lovesick school girl, his feelings get hurt with every rebuff. Dude wants to be an only child, which he was at birth!

Frank-Baby Spitz looks exactly like her mother, from face to body shape. She is tiny, round and fiercely independent. Mom deposited her on the patio at the tender age of about 5 weeks then left to have the rest of her litter (Elgie and Hemi amongst them). The raccoons surrounded her and she was hissing a spitting with every ounce in her. I chased them, grabbed her and brought her in the house. That was the last time her little paws touched outside.

Philip, they are dreadful creatures and protected un PA law. But as I told the game warden who came to check the carcass of a baby deer in the front yard....I have several acres of ground on which to hide the body. He agreed with that.

Lynn,Your kitties & birds are sweet.
I've heard of Fishers. They sound horrid & I share your stance on them.(Hide the body).I don't think we have them in the midwest. Wonder why?

Awwwww I like every one of them! That last picture of Moosie, he seems so regal :-o I think our neighbor's cat might have some Maine Coon in him. He is very big and very intelligent! The sweetest cat you'll ever meet!
