    Hello All,

These pics are of many of the birds that are what I consider "resident" birds (with the exception of a few Ruby Throated Hummingbird pics I added at the end...which only migrate through here in Spring and the Fall). We live on the outer edges of the nesting range of the hummingbirds...but we keep hoping a female every Spring will not only stop for a rest and a sip, but will nest here...maybe next year... :fingerscrossed:
Most of the pics show the adult birds either feeding/preparing/building for nests and talking care of the babies...What fun! :-D
I just want to add, don't forget to read the caption at the bottom of each pic. Also, there are a few pics that look like they are washed out/white lines in them. It's because of our bedroom blinds. I didn't want to open them and scare the birds by the feeder and the other water station right next to our window... ;)
    Hope you enjoy!

You've taken some really great photographs of your birds Susan. I enjoyed looking at them all - especialy the Carinals, Goldfinches and hummingbirds as we don't have anything that even look similar to them here in Scotland.

    Hello Eileen,
Thank you...I wish you lived close enough so you could visit, have a cup of coffee or tea on our patio...and watch the birds with me!

    Thank you Petunia :)
BTW, I see you had a thread awhile back in May titled "Where is our Spring/Summer?" I went to add a post but it's locked? why?
We're having crazy weather here...temps all week will be mainly in the mid to upper 70's...we're usually baking with temps in the high 80's - mid 90's!
Yes, it's comfortable, but i actually was wearing a sweater tending the gardens this morning!
It's also sadding...reminding me that although I can't wait for the hummingbirds arrival for their migration south, the fall season is just around the corner. By the 1st frost, I'm already counting the days til next Spring. Can you tell I don't like winter? :D

Susan I love all your pictures of the birds. But you have such amazing and neat gardens. Something to be very proud of.

    Hello Kuntrygal,

Thank you very much...and thank you for letting me know about locked threads.
I have found that the gardens have given me much more joy that I could ever have asked for. I'm very lucky. My husband paid for everything...and my part was the planning and labor.
I love your posting name! ;)

You're such a lucky girl to have all those lovely birds visiting your garden. And I'm lucky too, because I get to see your photos. :D I really like your flowers, and I'm certain the birds do too.

    Hello Droopy and Sjoerd,

Thank you both very much. I wish you could be here to see the birds here in action and not just in pics!

    Sjoerd,
Since you like the Goldfinches, here's a close-up of a male for you...

    Hello Netty,

I'm looking forward to seeing the baby Goldfinches in about 2-3 weeks. Our female Goldfinches had all finished nest building last week, so hopefully by mid August I can post some pics of them...I can't wait! :-D
    Weeeeeee...bouncy, bouncy...fun, fun, fun!!! :smt026

Great shots. You have so many nesting birds, wonderful! Isn't it fun to enjoy the adolescent birds this time of year. They do some silly, clumsy teenage behaviors in the garden. :D

Wonderful shots of a bird's life in your yard... very touching that they are so happy and well-tended there. Love the places where you leave stuff for their nests for them. The baby hummingbird is pretty cute, but then so are all the others too... I'm partial to the gentle doves and the friendly robins, too.
