We added two trellises to our backyard vegetable garden for tall vegetable plants such as long beans, luffa, gourd, and black berry vine. Here is the video:

We put two faked owls to protect our berries from birds and they are effective so far.

Nan your garden is a sheer delight and just gets better and better!! :-D I don't think I've ever seen such beauty before. What a wonderful mix of flowers and vegetables - a real credit to you. So much healthy looking produce. What are you going to do with everything you harvest?

Those owl guards are a great idea and I can see why they keep the birds away. Thank you for sharing you video and you garden with us.

You really do have a great garden, and video. What kind of mellons are those hanging on the trellis?

    Thank you all!

On the trellis, we have gourd, Luffa, and yardlong beans.

This year, we have bad luck with cucumbers and pumpkins. They all died due to bacterial wilt. But gourds and luffa are totally resistant to bacterial wilt.

Next year, we'll set chemical treated plant as bait in early spring to kill cucumber beetles and use cheese cloth to protect seedlings.
