The weather forecast had been awful but thankfully proved to be completely incorrect! We had more sun than cloud and very passable temperatures.

Here are a few shots and I will post the link to my photo bucket account if you would like to look at the rest ;)

After we had settled in and had our 1st cup of tea,we walked down the lane and towards the river at the end of it.When we crossed the railway line we did not realise that it is in daily use(although not hundreds of trains thankfully)

It was quite late by the time we were on the way back and this was our prize!

The next day we were off to see my quilts in the outdoor exhibition in the gardens about 20 miles away. This is our holiday accommodation.

Having seen an improving weather forecast we took a different circular route up the lane from the cottage and were lucky enough to see nature in action, with the seed release of these Rosebay Willowherb plants-stunning! That was a "Wow!" moment for both of us.

Next morning were out bright and early and had a lovely view of the Brecon Beacons only a few miles away. They form part of one of our National Parks with miles of paths and mountains to climb for those who want to...

But were on our way to one of the larger market towns nearby,Carmarthen. It has the remains of a castle and a bustling shopping centre. This was the day that my favourite lens decided to stop working, which is why I only took 8 shots all day. Thankfully there was a camera shop in the town and we were able to get me a second-hand replacement.

As our week drew to a close we made a return visit to Aberglasney gardens, less that 5 miles from our cottage.Once again we had a beautiful day.

The gardens, flowers, sunsets and all are lovely, but the very best is your quilt! That is absolutely stunning, and I can only imagine the piecing it required.
So glad the weather cooperated, and that you had a wonderful vacation. Thank you for taking us all along!

Nice place to visit and the quilt is gorgeous. I KNOW how much piecing you had to do on that one and the quilting too. Congrats on the ribbon, those are always so exciting!!!

    Hiya Quilty,

Thanks a mil for posting these foto's. I also viewed the rest of them in your photobucket. I quite enjoyed seeing the quilts presented outside and indoors. I liked numbers 10,3,5,24...and of course yours.

There were some nice castle remains and garden shots which I found interesting and lovely. Lots of bees there, I saw.
There was one special foto there that

I saw that I would vote for should it be entered in the monthly foto contest on here. It featured sharp green foliage up close and personal. It was superb, I thought.

These foto's certainly were worth waiting for. Congratulations upon winning a prize for your quilt entry.

Thank you all for your lovely comments :p

What made my ribbon special is that the quilt is my own design which 'evolved' as I was making it. :D

    Sjoerd,

Perhaps I ought to post the leaf picture on here and see if Frank spots it :D

I note that you also liked quilt number 24-that is mine too and my personal favourite of the ones I have made so far.
