Hi All! . We always use the back door of our house and consequently the front flower beds and shrubs have gotten completely out of control. I just never go out there, but now it's an eye sore and I want to clean it up. I want to save money and do it myself but don't know where to start. Also there is some poison ivy and I am very allergic. Any suggestions would be helpful. The is now a tree growing out of the front as well. Yikes! The pathway is almost covered and it looks awful. Thanks Badger
Is there any chance you could take some photographs for us Badger? It always helps us to help you if we can see what you have to tackle. Welcome to GardenStew by the way. :-D
A very big welcome to a new fellow Stewbie. Do you know we are only 20 miles apart????? I agree with eileen, pictures would be wonderful.
Ho badger, welcome to GardenStew from Chelmsford MA. Pictures would help as it would generate some starting points and members would feel more comfortable making suggestions. How much Poison Ivy are we talking about? Jerry
Oh! Oh! Go get some of Grandma's Poison Ivy soap. I use it every time I go hear weeds or woods. Our land had gobs of it when we moved in and I was coated more than one time. Now that I found that soap if I touch it accidently, I wash with it and I don't get it... That's great for me. Now we use a poison ivy killer when a little plant appears. It takes years to kill it all.
Hello and welcome to our forum Do you have any pictures to share with us so we can get a better idea and try and help you?
Welcome Badger! Gardenstew is a great community. Hope you like it here. I agree with others, some photos would help. I imagine though, the first step ight be to get rid of that poison ivy. My husband & I pull it (very carefully), using rubber gloves & plastic bags. If you are extremely allergic, that might not be a good idea! How about using one of those chemical products to kill it?
Badger, I've been driving around Bangor trying to fine a "completely out of control". Can't find it. Did you already clean it up? We wanted to see a messy front yard so then we could see a clean front yard. That's always fun.....
