hello..I am new here, I live in KY, with the military, actually husband is. We put in 8 hanging fuchia plants and they are drooping and do not look happy. Any ideas? Can they be overwatered? Also, we have scotch pine that are dying, any ideas there as well? There are no places around here we know of to ask. thank you, Suzanne
Hi there Susan. :-D Nice to have you here with us. Why not introduce yourself to our members and tell us a littel more about yourself as we love to get to know new members better. Now I can answer one of your questions. Fuchsias don't like too much water - in fact they prefer to be a little on the dry side. Sorry I don't know what could be causing your Scotch pines to die back. It could be some type of virus, disease or pest infestation. Could you describe what is happening to them please? For example are they dying from the top or do you see anything on the wood - holes or fungus?
Thank you hi.. we will try cutting back on the water and see what happens. My husband is the 'gardener' here, as he does the work, I pick out the plants and arrange them, guess a team effort. We used to live in the Northeast and having a long growing season is a joy to us. As for the pines, the death starts in the boughs and works its way up to the trunk. We have lost 3 pines this way and hate to lose more as we have some very large ones. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Susan, Welcome to our Stew.I'm from central Texas. It sounds like Pine Beetles.The Yellow Stone National Forest was hit by them a few years back and killed them in huge numbers.They had pine dead all over the place plus then the fires got so many thousands of acres. Go to search and look for Pine Beetles.
