While some plants are starting to shut down after the long hot summer... a few others are really doing well.
This Shamrock has been putting up a good fight all year.
(The pot it's in is about 18 inches across).

This one likes it pretty shady, but I've seen one in a mostly sunny spot and it was doing well, too.
I have a couple more started too. I've seen these mostly in containers... has anyone tried growing it in the ground?

That's a very nice looking Oxalis. I buy one or two every year and plant them in plastic cauldrons like you get at Halloween for decorations....especially the green one, it seems appropriate ;) I've never put them in the ground tho, since I like having them by the front door for luck. They would probably do just fine in the ground like any other annual, might even get a little larger with more room to spread.

I've been growing this one for at least 3 years. I just baby it doing the winter and it keeps coming back.
I may take one of the starters and try it in the ground this spring.

Looks very nice! I have one growing in a pot also and it is starting to fill in some. You can take a piece of the bulb/tuber and break it into several pieces and each one will start new plants...even tiny pieces. If you plant in ground expect them to spread fast and they may become invasive.

Thanks for the tip Creationsings... I think I'll still try some in the ground. I should have plenty of room where I'm thinking of.
Does your's like it in shade or partial sun?

Mine is potted and I have now moved it into the house because our nights are getting to chilly. But outside was partial morning sun then shade rest of the day.
