Literally! I had some minor surgery yesterday to remove a small growth that looked suspicious. It was on my thigh, but so high up that it may as well have been on my rear end. Seven stitches later, and I'm all done. He could have just biopsied it first, but he said the procedure to do that would have been almost as extensive as removing the entire thing, so we decided to just go ahead and get it all removed. If it is cancerous, then it's all gone anyway. He sent it to be biopsied and I'll have the results next week. Meanwhile, I'm doing a lot of sideways sitting, and contorting myself into weird positions so that I'm not putting too much pressure on that part of my anatomy.
I see what you did there. Thanks all. It's uncomfortable, but I haven't had to take any pain medication for it, so that's good. Honestly, it's my neck that's giving me more trouble! I had to lay on my stomach, which is not a position in which I'm comfortable. I kept turning my head to one side and then the other, sometimes resting on my chin, but none of those positions felt remotely natural and I really felt like I was stretching the muscles in my neck to maintain. Thursday evening I started to notice discomfort in my neck, and by yesterday it was really painful. It feels slightly better this morning. I want those results! I'm impatient to know, so I know what's ahead.
ROFL! FBG, if you think that's funny, you oughta have seen me trying to get a photo! ..... And no, I'm not weird, the doctor suggested it so that I have a comparison to make sure the wound is healing cleanly. (though honestly, I would have done it anyway ) All I can say is it's a good thing we live in the age of digital cameras! AND computer editing of same! Given the location of the stitches, there was no way to take the picture and NOT also not get a bit of my....uh.....girl parts in the shot lol! Thank all that is holy for the cropping tool!!!
Friend had that area with stitches. Could not get them wet. Special band aid -showers only. She wanted hot soaking bath in worse way.
Finally got the biopsy results back...and it was taking so long I was getting very nervous. But the news is good! No cancer, whew!! And Paige removed the stitches yesterday. No more tugging/pulling/discomfort, or feeling like I was sitting on something sharp and lumpy. Yay!!
Capt, we think alike! I actually used a neck pillow. You know, they're almost a complete circle, but with an opening to put it around your neck. Worked like a charm.
