I and refinishing my basement and I was wanting to go with a light blue paint (it is actually lighter than the below pic) and white victorian crown/base/chair moulding but the rest of my house has oak molding and it is too expensive to replace it all. It seems to look okay in my mind but would light blue and oak clash?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I think the white would look great. Being in the basement, it it totally seperate from the rest of the house. I would say just go with what you like. It doesn't have to match.

I agree with kuntrygal - go with what you love.

I love light blue and oak together. My bathroom has white trim/molding up high and the window moldings and baseboards match the oak cabinets.

I agree too, a light blue shade together with the oak will look just fine.

My floors and stairs are all oak ......I prefer the white with it .. Shows off.
However in the basement A light color would bring in more light....maybe a few mirrows......I have mirrors in every room..Like the effect.
