I downloaded Windows Live Photo Gallery this morning. It is for the Vista operating system. It is really neat to use. If anyone has it or downloads it and needs instruction on how to do a panoramic pic, it is really easy. The download is free by the way.

This is my front yard, with 2 pics stitched together.

Beautiful view from your porch and well done on creating the panorama.
I would love to have that view, how far away is your nearest neighbor? And what are those shrubs out there? My first thought was Nandina to create a property line but I'm not sure.

If you look at the green strip of grass in the center of the pic and look up at the horizon, that is where my nearest neighbor is. About a 1/4 mile. The shrubs are mock orange. They are planted as a hedge and when fully leafed out, you can't see through them. But they aren't my property line. I have a total of 3 acres so I don't feel hemmed in! In the summer when the leaves are out, it blocks the sound of the traffic up on the highway. About 2 acres of my land I let go wild. That is why I have so much wildlife around me!

Hey I think I'll try downloading Windows Live Photo Gallery myself. Mind you I don't have such spectacular countryside right outside my home as you do CK. You did a great job of combining the two photographs - I really never would have known you'd done if you hadn't told us. :stew1:

Eileen, here are the directions for doing a panoramic pic. Go to the windows web site and then click on windows help and how to. They have a demo video or you can select transcript. I did the transcrit and the printed it.
One hint, when you take the pics, make sure they over lap where you want to join them. If you need any help. let me know.

What a beautiful view you have Capt. I would love to be able to look out my window and just see nature as far as the eye could see. Thanks for sharing. :stew1:

New programs can be so much fun, I will have to try that one out. The picture is amazing, great job. Do you have any problems using Vista? It seems to fight with our virus protection and we need to work that out but it does have a lot of benefits.

I have had Vista for almost a year and have had no problems with it. Well I did have one problem with a piece of software and I contacted the company and they sent me an upgrade for the program and have had no problems since.

1/4 mile away is a good distance away for a neighbor to be :-D
I bet you get a wonderful fragrance wafting across you deck when the Mock Orange is in bloom.
