Those are beautiful Playtime, especially the black one. I have some like your last two photos, sure wish I had seen some of the black ones I really like those.
Thank you Toni, We bought the black pansys as seeds and planted them last summer, they didnt do much in autumn but being a lazy gardener I didnt empty the pots and they have come into their own this spring and they are beautiful that plant has 4 blooms on it two in bud and two fully open.
Oh now I want black pansies!!! My 'must have' list is getting longer and longer. I would love to see them in my garden planted amongst white and orange ones as I think they'd make a real statement.
Thank you for posting these pansies. I missed having pansies in my yard and garden this year. I like the black one, too but I like the yellow and brown pansies. dr likes the purple ones. dooley
Thank you Dooley and Eileen I think there is something for everyone with Pansys, so many colours and patterns to choose from.
I love pansies playtime. Thanks for these lovely photos. Never seen a black one before, must look out for one.
Oooh, lovely ones! I like the pansies with little faces, but that black one is a rare beauty. We've got a perennial black pansy from my gardening hero in Molde. It's named after her too, I'm very proud to have it.
Thank you Gardengirl and Droopy, How wonderful to have a plant named after your gardening Hero and a black pansy at that, If I can find the packet of seeds for the black one I will tell you the name of them. Found the seed packet they are Pansy 'Black Beauty' the company is Carters Tested Seeds and they are in Paignton England. I really cant recall where I picked these up from. Id hazard a guess that I got them from Wilkinsons as they have a 1/2 marked price label on them. which would have made the pack of 140 seeds 35p.
