I was tired of no color, drab and dingy so I figured while hubby is in Chicago this week I would empty the pantry and paint it.
I haven't done the bottom section, our house is too small to take it all out and still be able to walk around, that part will be done later.

The kitchen doesn't have much cabinet space and the builder didn't consider a pantry a necessary item. This was originally a coat closet, sorta wish we had a coat closet but I need the pantry much more.

    Before....

I have put everything back in now and everything looks so nice. Can't wait to tackle that bottom section.

Have you any colour-coding rules you'll apply to items Toni? It looks great!

Those colours look very cheerful. You did a great job.
Good luck on that bottom bit--it looks like it will be a knees and elbows job though. Take care that you don't pull your back out.

I am glad everyone likes my paint color choices.
I have so much of those paints left over that I think the bottom area will be some design using all of them, maybe polka dots  or stripes  I would love to find some purple tiles but that isn't very likely I guess.

Frank the only color rule I apply is not to put colors from the same family next to each other...like the yellow and orange or the blueish-purple and green. The darker colors make the other colors POP, so I try to have at least one dark.

I love the cheerful colors....looks great.I would of never thought of doing that.

It was kind of funny to hear your story. I am giving up my large pantry (I love it and it is so nice) because we need a coat closet. We are bringing my washer and dryer upstairs because of leg problems and where they will go is my coat area. My washer and dryer used to be upstairs when we first moved here but needed somewhere to put boots, coats. The closet in the front of the house is so small.

We are taking out a desk area and having a cupboard pantry made to fit that area...

We decided it was a lot cheaper to do this than put on an addition to the house. So eventually we will get this all set and changed...
