Pasque flower

    This is the first time we can remember them flowering in our garden at the correct time of year.

    Those are looking supurb. Ours aren't really doing much yet, although threy are present and accounted-for.
    You have some nice flowers in your garden. Please show more.

    Pulsatilla vulgaris, Pulsatilla rubra, Pulsatilla Constance.

    Oh Eric they are beautiful!! :D I only have the purple one - at least I think I still have it as there's still no sign of it. :cry:

    They would be sold as alpines. I hope you did not disturb the roots when you put it in a pot. They dislike that so much they often die on you!

    Oops, i hope i didnt too!! Im sure i didnt, it was attached to quite a lump of soil, i cant remember even seeing the roots.I was talking to my neighbour and showed him your lovely specimens, he also has one the same colour as mine in his garden, but says he didnt plant it.He is really pleased now, becuase he has been trying to find out what the plant is, so thanks for that.

    If it sets seeds and it looks as if it should, sow then straight away and you will have lots of plants (and maybe different colours). They flower in two years from seed.
