I love solar lights in a garden and yours are really pretty. :-D I must get around to replacing mine as they were buried under five feet of snow last winter and have stopped working. :(

These are flower pots with a solar light and silk flower. I made them for my patio tables. Last night was the first night to see them on. They work nicely.

Nice lights Donna, I think the globe is prettier than the other lights.

Eileen, dig the snow away from the light, it may start working.:)

    I couldn't resist that. :)

Most solar powered lights have replaceable batteries usually ni-cads however a lithium battery will also work.

I agree with Jerry Eileen, get replacement batteries - mum did all of mine last visit and now my garden is lit up light Blackpool illuminations. In fact, mum has just given me another string of solar lanterns to hang in the tree! Honestly, planes will start to land there soon. :)

Donna, it is lovely and very pretty. I love it that we can enjoy our gardens in the evenings as much as in the daytimes, and the solar lights are so much more gentle than regular lights.

Thanks all. And the good news is they only cost $4 bucks to make.

I did try to replace the batteries but most of the globes had been cracked by the weight of snow and ice as they were made of glass. In fact they looked very like Donna's ones but were on two foot high poles. Some were full of water when we dug them out and the wiring inside was so brittle that it snapped as soon as it was touched. I want to get ones that aren't quite so fragile next time and at the first signs of another heavy snowfall I'll switch them off and pull them out of the ground to store somewhere dry until spring.

Looks great Donna! I have been seeing some solar lights at the various stores. I think I may just have to pick up some.
