The wild turkeys had been coming through my yard about every 2 weeks. Usually on a Sat or Sun morning. They have been in a group of 8. The last time they were through will be 2 weeks tomorrow and there were only 2 of them. They have only been here once since the wind we had from hurricane Ike. So maybe that storm caused them to change their pattern, or maybe with fall being here now has changed it. Will try to get pics of them on Sun if they show up. It is so dry here, we have a shortage of birds that we usually have this time of year too, so that might be a reason.

Sun. no turkeys again this morning. I think that wind storm, coupled with the change in season has caused them to change there movement patterns. And as I think back to the storm, there haven't been any animals hardly come through. We usually see geer in the yard 3 or 4 times a week and we haven't seen any.

You know its really odd but I have seen more wild turkeys back in the summer months than I have in the past 3-4 weeks. I wonder if all the dry weather has affected them in an adverse way? I have noticed that the squirrels are not out in force like they usually are this time of year either.

I think the wind storm from Ike did more to change their patters than anything. I think there was just too much damage to their habitat.

You know Captain that could be. I really had not thought about Ike affecting them in that way. I just noticed this year the wildlife is sure doing things differently.
