I've had a paulownia tomentosa for about 3 years now it's never bloomed and I keep hearing how it has good wood but all I get is huge leaves and every year it shoots up a new trunk and the old trunks are dead and Hollow is this normal

    Hi there,
what is your growing zone, it usually does best in zones 5-8. Also do you prune it back? It blooms on old wood, the buds form in Summer but do not bloom until the following spring. It can be pruned but has to be at the proper time or there will be no blooms the following Spring.

Zone 5. Haven't pruned it yet but will try is. Does the trunk ever get big? Every winter the leaves fall off and in spring the old trunk is dead and a new one comes up.
