Blue Jays seem to be so talented when it comes to opening peanuts...look how I caught this Blue Jay tossing one in the air and catching the peanut he just got out of the shell... Blue Jay... Yes those are some great photos. Those little Chickadees are such busy birds. Fly to the feeder, grab a seed, fly to the tree and peck it open. Then repeat. They are my fav to watch.
Great pics. I have seen all these actions watching birds before but to see them in these shots is a different story. Very nice.
eileen....what the little chickadee doesn't have in skills , he has it in how fast he is. He usually grabs an unshelled peanut but the tray was out of them...Thank you Tooty2shoes....thank you..it is amazing all of the flying birds do for one item...when he comes to the other feeder, he grabs one piece of safflower and into the tree he goes Frank...thank you. I think we have all tried tossing some kind of food up and catching it. We have failed at our house too waretrop...thank you...I think if you don't catch it on camera or a video it is easy to miss. It hapens so fast and I was just lucky enough to catch it...LOL

Thank you 2ofus, Sjoerd and Donna... Donna...no I am not using a tripod, I am standing on a stool in front of the kitchen sink getting these shots of the little wire tray and birds. Morning is the best feeding time for that area and I get the more birds at that time. I do have to be careful not to move too fast and loose my footing or I could fall off of the stool. I am too short (5' 2") to just stand in front of the sink without getting the bottom of the window in my photos unless the birds are up high in my tree. My camera has an image stabilizer which helps a lot.
