Pentas leaves drying / burning?

    Hi

    I have begun noticing this drying out on the leaves of my Pentas plant... why is this happening? Help!

    This appears to be fertilizer burn or an accumulation of salts in the soil. My suggestion would be to gently re pot the plant removing as much of the loose soil as possible and using new potting mix for it. That way you are getting as much of the salt accumulation (over fertilizing) away from the roots immediately and giving the roots some where to grow to and be able to suck up some needed moisture. Trim the leaves that are burned, although they will probably eventually drop off, it will look better with out the brown on it. refrain from over fertilizing it. Maybe dilute your solution a little more or fertilize it less often. allow the water to drain through the pot and then remove the standing water after a 1/2 hour, this will also help remove some of the salts in the old soil.
