http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/state/ ... er-in-ohio I found this today and though it was a great story.
Amazing, the comfort provided by animals. Great program, there should be more of them, especially in VA hospitals with recovering veterans. Jerry
thanks for the patch Jerry! I thought it was a great story for all to see and hopefully more people/hospitals and places would be "open minded" to the good of a program such as this.
That is a good story. I love the healing power of pets. I used to garden for a woman who had a therapy dog who went to work with her at a re hab hospital. Bailey saw mostly children and would sit with them while they read stories to her. She was a Golden Retriever and was so expressive that sometimes I expected her to talk to me!
We have 'pat dogs' here in some of our hospitals and hospices and the comfort they give is insurrmountable. Stories like this bring to the fore just what animals can do for our wellbeing.
I seen a picture of a black lab by his master casket. USA soldier. Makes tears come to my eyes. Some dogs would be great to hug when feeling sad. They know when you need -a big kiss.
