I have had a lovely PG hydrangea tree for about 6 years. This spring it began as usual with small green leaf starts BUT it has not progressed from that point! The leaves are still green but only about 1/4 inch or less in size. At the base of the tree the bark looks mottled and when I touch it; it is spongy! We have had a lot of rain through the whole month of june but the PG hydrangea bushes are doing great and so are all of my other hydrangeas. I know the tree is still alive but I know it needs some help and I am at a loss as to what to do.
