Put a new 12 volt pump and spray nozzle on my tank sprayer and got it working good. Set up the 2 rain barrels and they are all set if we get any rain. Did some cleaning up in the yard, sticks and old leaves etc. Did some mowing up around the house, didn't really need it, but now it all looks even. Lot's of stuff coming up too. The double dafs are in bloom, the Joquels and the hyacinths are blooming. The patch od wild bloo root over in the brush has doubled from last year and new new patches have started up. The mock orange are starting to leaf out, so it won't be long before leaves are on the trees.

How cool is that. Maybe it really is Spring.....With all that wind last Winter we also had twigs all over the place. We actually put them in the gardens to burn there were so many.

Hope the wind stops blowing so we can stop picking up those little branches.... and all the leftover leaf swirrels.

It sounds like spring has found you Capt. Not here ... the snow is gone, but we have a winter storm watch in effect. Thankfully, the plants seem to know and haven't poked their heads out yet.

Capt. Kirk - I would love to know more about your rain barrels. Are they connected to your gutters? Do you connect a hose to them? Things like that. I have been interested in getting one, but I didn't really know if I would actually use it. Pics if you have any, please.

Feels good to get stuff done, huh? Glad to hear you have been outside whittling away at it.

Today seems to be the day to get work done. We are burning all the apple trimmings and raspberry canes, grass, asparagus trash etc. right in the garden. Whew! we got a lot done, too. Picking up all those apple prunings is a lot of work. Now as I come in for lunch and check out the stew it started raining, but I have been hearing the rumblings for a while now. I am actually glad to hear the rain, though, it seems a little dry and we planted peas , finally last week and have had no rain since then.

Phew made me tired just reading it all. Plus I am very jealous in all that you have growing and soon to bloom. The only thing had blooming the last two days was freezing rain and now more rain with temps in the mid 30's. :-x Someone better wake up Mom nature and give a good talking to as it is suppose to be spring. :stew1:
