I was really hoping for a good drenching today, we've been so dry this spring, but we didn't even get enough rain to measure, just a cloudy and sometimes drizzly day. It seemed to perk up some of the plants, though. Shasta daisies, Verbena and Penstemmon are blooming in the south bed All of the vines growing on the lattice at the top of the drive seem to be growing faster day by day Lilies and Coreopsis in front of the glasshouse A mix of colorful foliage and flowers by the front door My first pot of Gloriosa rothschildiana is just beginning to set flower buds, I'll plant another potful next week end Osteospermum fruticosa "Whirligig" I don't know the name of this Daylily, but I love the dark, rich color If you recognize it, I'd love to know it's name Adenium obesum I didn't get too much new planting done, but I enjoyed the day anyhow :-D I hope you had a great one, too.
Great pictures Zuzu. I especially like the daylilys with the rain drops on them. I have never seen anything like the whirlygig. It definately has a unique shape.
Great pictures of gorgeous plants Zuzu. Doesn't everything look pretty in rain, the real stuff is so much better than tap.
Isn't this the best time of year so much color. I really love the Whirlygig and your little frog (4th pic).
Your garden looks beautiful. I like your plant hanger by the front door. So much to do and see, yet I bet you could spend hours just sitting.
Thanks to each of you for your nice comments. :-D I will investigate "Midnight Magic" Netty, thanks for the lead. Teddybear, the curli-cued metal frame work with the hanging plants by the front door is actually part of an old lighting fixture that I found at a Goodwill store several years ago. I stripped out all of the extraneous parts and turned it into . . . :-? . . . well, whatever the heck it is now. *lol* I need to find a wire basket and transplant the Fuchsia out of that horrible red plastic pot, it sticks out like a sore thumb. And that's why I never do get to just sit in the garden as much as I'd like, everywhere I look, I see something that needs doing.
oh zuzu i love the whirlygig picture. never have seen that before. could that daylily be "Black Emmanuel" ?
You have such a beautiful garden Zuzu with so much colour in it. If only mine looked half as good as yours does.
