I have had as many as 10 hummers fighting over the feeder, but it's too chaotic to try and catch that many with the camera. The pic with 4 of them is a bit fuzzy.

Such cute little things. Those are good shots. Did you have camera in hand waiting for them? Take all the pics you can and share them all!!

Yes I did have camera in hand. Several afternoons when arriving home from work I would see so many of them that I decided that when I was off from work I would try to get some pics of several of them together at the feeder. Maybe my life is a little dull? since I find this so exciting? But I have never seen so many at one time humming around a feeder. I also love the way they perch on my garden arch among the morning glory vines to keep a watch on the feeder. The males try so hard to keep the females away but the girls usually outsmart them by flying up to the deck to hide behind the railings until the opportunity arises to fly to the feeder unharassed. :headbang:

You are so lucky to have those around. They don't live here so I enjoy everybody else's photos. :D

I really enjoy seeing those little creatures. They are a real curiosity, as I have never seen one over here.

Great shots Tammy! I have seen 3 at once by my feeder this year but there is always a fight and they get chased away. Only 1 is ever actually feeding and I've only ever seen females. There is a male around but he is never allowed to feed LOL

    Hello Tammy,

I'm so thrilled for you! We only see a few of them during the Spring migration, none during the summer, but loads during the fall migration. They truely are flying gems!
Thanks for posting your pics... :-D

I love your pics Tammy. I've never seen more than one of them perch. They usually hover around and attempt to run each other off.
