I have made a few pics over the last week which could be called the `peak of the garden season´, I guess. Today the garden already looks like it´s on the downhill side to me. It just sort of suddenly happened. Anyway, I hope that you will enjoy the flowers as much as I do. Here goes// Cosmos atrosanguineus Dipsacus fullonum Glads Poppies and Alceas Pink Hollyhock Buddleja davidii ´Black Knight´ Liatris and Knautia macedonica Crocosmia ´Lucifer´ and others Hemerocallis ´Christmas Is´ Mirabilis jalapa A wet bumbler trying to get out of the rain
Wonderful photographs, as always, Sjoerd. I love your chocolate cosmos - strangely it's the one plant that I've never had much success with but I don't know why. :-?
Beautiful pics...love the 'Black Knight'and Hollyhock. The bumblers were having a good time! Thanks for sharing!
Well Eileen, I put out five this year, and only one came up! I don't know what what happened to them. That's not a good percentage, is it.
Simply beautiful Sjoerd....again I am jealous My chocolate Cosmos failed too, I planted three and ended up with nothing.
Your Crocosmia is glorious. It all still looks very good to me. Just the place for summer evening strolls and we all get to see it. Thanks, Sjoerd. Gardengater
I especially love the bee pictures...you know me and bees...my glads are just starting but a lot of bulbs didn't make it..I think we have had too much wet weather here...great pictures..Sherry
Love those pink glads. Hope I'll get to see mine flower, they had a really late start. For now I'll enjoy others. thanks for sharing.
Thank all you guys for the very nice compliments. I've got my fingers crossed for you and your glads, Petunia.
Sjoerd,Your plants are as beautiful as ever. They are absolutely all wonderful.I do love the bees too.Without them where would we be .
Sjoerd, you always have such wonderful pics. I love to take pics with the bees in them, they are quick though. I can't pick a favorite but that hollyhock is close, I've never seen one with those pretty ends (almost ruffle like). And the butterfly bush comes in second, that one is on my list. Thanks for sharing.
Toni...it was a great disappointment about thode chocolate cosmeas. I am thinking that next year, I will raise them indoors to a decent size before planting them ouside. I hope this way they will avoid pests and too much wetness. Thanks Glenda and 'T'. I like mixing the hollyhocks to have different types of flower petal margins as well as various colour combinations. Thanks for your kind words.
