Does anyone have pictures of the little white nodules you get when a tree cutting is starting to take root? I can take a picture of mine but I have no clue what I am looking for.

It does a little but is hard to picture the difference between submerged root starts and soil root starts. I guess I should get some documentation on that is happening with mine and post a progress slide show. Assuming any of the ones I think might grow roots actually do so.

This one is of the white nodes I see on a lot of the cuttings. Is this what is the indicator that roots should soon follow. I know the picture is terrible but it does show the white node.

This one is the best rooter I have yet. No doubt about this one. It is also the only one that I cut through the wrinkled bark on the stem and it doing the best. Gonna try a lot more of these this weekend to see if it relevant or just a fluke.

Yep those are the white nodes that are a forerunner of the roots Christopher. Looks as though you're going to have some new plum trees!!! Well done you. :D

It is a hybrid type of plum that my Grandma has had for many years. They are wanting to move the tree because someone stole all the fruit this year.

I guess the fruit is simply awesome but I have never had any of it. If I get enough of them to start I will have a tree of my own so I can finally taste them. :-D

I think the bottom one is really close. I am actually planning to move it to a pot here pretty soon so it can focus on rooting in something with more room and less water. Hopefully it will have new leaves forming before April and have some descent growth already.

I think since it has descent root growth that I really need to get it planted soon or the roots could start rotting or get too weak and spindly to plant and not break them easily.

Well I messed things up and the ones I had roots on rotted. I guess this time when I see roots I need to make sure and get them out into dryer soil and maybe warm them a little more.

I have 12 or so new ones I started a couple weeks ago so hopefully one or more of them will take off and root.

Might be in luck and my grandma might decide to leave the tree so I can try and graft it onto another plum tree in the spring. Otherwise I am gonna hope these take.
