We have two crape myrtles in the strip of ground between the sidewalk and curb. They were there for many years before we bought the house almost 20 years ago and are really good size. At some point in the last few years a birdy has 'planted' two, maybe three, Redbud trees at the base of the crape myrtle. The Redbud blooms early in the spring, way before the crape myrtle even thinks about waking up.

I rearranged some things on the front porch. We brought this long bench from the back yard but my usual pot of Red Geraniums had to stay in place.
I have a planter with daisey seeds, hope they sprout.
The little green planter you can barely see holds Nicky's lemon seed from a couple of months ago.
Then there is an Ice Plant in a showman head planter.
A Piggy Back plant waiting to be planted in that hanging basket and hung in the bathroom.
A Dead Nettle just starting to bloom, two Bacopas- one lilac and one white and a repotted Rosemary.

And while I was taking pictures of the Redbud in the Crape Myrtle I noticed a Mockingbird perched above me just waiting for me to take her picture. The sun is shinning on her chest so she has a yellow look to her.

The Redbud/Cercis blooms are a gorgeous hue, really stand out. Also can't get enough of birdy pics, the Mockingbird probably wondered why it took you so long to take a snap.

Great photos Toni, thanks for posting.

Well, :) aren't your birds clever to have planted the Redbud there?
It looks so pretty playing peek-a-boo among the bare Crape Myrtle branches.

Certainly looks like spring has taken a firm hold at your house, Toni.

Love the redbuds among the crepe myrtles, and the mocking bird is really strutting her stuff.

Glad you all enjoyed my front yard, until the eaves are repaired and painted those are the prettiest parts of it. Then I can get serious about creating a garden out there.

So pretty! The shot of the bird in the sunlight is especially nice, but I like all of them.

    crepe myrtle..

My crepe myrtle are not blooming yet, but when they do I will try to get a pic. of my strange one, bought all pink plants and this one actually has mostly pink but has white growing from the same plant one or two branches produce white flowers every year, have you ever heard of this? it boggles my mind every year when I see it....and no it is not a separate plant coming up from the bottom, but branches from the same plant, I checked!!
