I never knew there was such a bird. I'm so glad it visited your pond so that you could share it with us all.
Aha moment--I find that I've been mis-naming the pied-bill Grebe (thought the bill didn't resemble any pie I'd ever seen). The bill is bicolored, or pied. Sorry folks, from now on I'll consult my bird ID book before posting about a bird (unless the bird is a chicken--I'm very familiar with those!).
