Pileated Woodpecker

    The pileated woodpecker still comes to the deck more or less every day. She waits till I put a bit of food in thie log that I put up.

    You managed to catch that shot just before she swallowed the grub she has in her bill - fantastic!!

    Awesome shot! Here's the shot I got of one on a very cold winter morning. The poor guy was clinging by his toes to my small suet feeder!

    I used to love listening to him pecking on hollow dead trees in the woods behind our house...but we moved so I haven't seen them since. Great shot.
