    While looking for container planting for sweet basil, I came across this video about pineapple which is rather interesting especially about the seed part. Never knew that those little brown specks are seeds! :oops:

    Interesting. I might have to try growing pineapple, but I'll have to think about where it could go in the house over the winter here.

    I saw a vid that said you could grow pineapples by simply chopping the top leaves off with a cm or so or flesh. I did and the 'plant' threw off extra leaves! It never died out. Going on 3 months now! Dunno what's growing underneath though! Will def watch this vid!

    WOW! I have to buy a pineapple tomorrow itself now! A seed to you to have shared this vid with us! And the pretty pineapple sprout at the end are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Interesting video. :D I won't try to grow a pineapple unless I get a greenhouse. Mother grew a cut-off top once. It stayed alive for a very long time, but never managed to set a new pineapple.

    Thanks for this post KK. I cut them up like this also. But I take the top part off before hand.
    Never thought about starting new plants from the seed.
