Pink Amaryllis

    This year the Amaryllis my oldest daughter gave me has three large stems and each stem has two fully open blooms and two buds.

    I would love to be able to grow amaryllis outdoors but our weather would kill them off. We can only buy the bulbs to grow indoors. Thanks for the lovely photographs Toni - a real treat for the eyes!! :stew2:

    Nice pictures. Does that type of flower usually have multiple blooms on one stem?

    That's one gorgeous Amaryllis, Toni. it must be so nice to be able to grow them outside in your garden.

    Thanks for the nice comments. I really have never considered pink a good color but these are so pretty.

    I had never realized they couldn't be an outdoor plant until joining GS. A friend in south Florida had dozens of them in her garden and these have been doing so well...guess there are things about our 'too warm' weather that is special.

    I've never had luck with Amaryllis.
