This tree is about 15ft tall and a branch spread of about 30-40ft. Its short and very wide. It has huge soft pink flowers larger than both hands, the buds are dark pink and about the size of a large mans fist. The leaves remind me of a fig trees but larger aand the trunk is a multi trunk like a crepes. A stunning tree.

Im this bottem pic you can get a idea how big these flowers are by looking at the fence...that large leaf is resting on the corner of the metal fence.

Wow! I may need to get one of these and plant at my Mom's place. There's a bare fence corner just crying for something like this!

well, it is a hibiscus. no idea why it's called a rose. it is an actual tree, of smaller size.
i have ONE. here in cold wintered romania.
i got it from seeds i took from hong kong.
unfortunately i never see it bloom. after being in a pot in the house for the winter, in spring i planted it in the garden, but it took sooo long to start leafing and growing a bit.
and now it's too cold for it to even make the flower buds :(
oh well... we'll see next year. maybe a better idea is to just leave it always in a huge pot.
what do you think? any of you have it in a pot???
