I was going through a box of old photos and posting them on Facebook for my god-daughter to see. And this one particular photo (from around 1994) really grabbed my attention. Not just because she was/is an adorable kid... 1994 or so ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) See that thunderbird cinder block and the African Milkweed? Well... I had gotten both of them probably 10 years prior to this photo! I still have them both (although the Milkweed suffered serious freeze damage a couple of years ago leaving only a single piece alive) and the t-bird got it's first new paint job recently.... but I still have them and count them among my most cherished possessions (and the kid too!) same ones today 051213 ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
You should take another photograph of your god-daughter with both the milkweed and the cinder block now for comparison. There are a few things here that I have had for many years and just can't let go. However, I don't have a pretty god-daughter to take photographs of though.
I'm a sucker for keeping and maintaining older stuff also Cheryl. You really do get attached to inanimate objects sometimes!
Thanks Jewell and Netty! Eileen... here is a recent photo of her. She's been living in Florida and now in Tucson, hopefully I get to visit them next year. If she ever gets to visit here, I'll have to try and recreate that photo. Frank... there's certain objects that I have dragged everywhere with me since leaving for college. Hi Cheryl,..lovely to see the then and now versions,..but even better knowing you took good care of the African Milkweed and the T-Bird,..(and the kid too) lol,..and that's even better as people do lose contact,..even with relations,..good for you Cheryl.
