Seeds sown at the end of summer turned into fairly large seedlings,..some are now plants in their own right and i have started to plant them out.

Not being used to the new plants the cats had to be prevented from jumping on what is now in the path they took,..so chicken wire and anything else that comes to hand protects the young plants for now.

Your Delphiniums and Hollyhocks are looking good Philip!! My lupins, from last summer, are doing really well too and are around a foot in height. I also have five small, patio butterfly bushes that are coming along nicely. Fingers crossed they'll all bloom well for me this summer and attract lots of bees and butterflies.

    Hi Eileen,
i got a head start instead of sowing around now,..the Delphiniums will fit in well but its the Hollyhocks i fear will get the rust as we have misty nights and Hollyhock leaves need to be kept dry,..i have planted most in areas where drying will take place quickly.

You are way ahead of me with your Lupins,..i only got seeds from a friend the start of this month,..hoping yours do very well as Lupins are well worth having.

Philip I think those are lupins :-o My delphiniums are kind of lacey looking. I love hollyhocks! To me they say "cottage garden" and remind me of my grandma :-D
