Science has found a novel way to 'listen' to information put out by all the plants in the world at the same time. Most of us are familiar with greenness indicators, satellite data used to determine the health of plants affected by drought, deforestation, and other environmental conditions. Now however, scientists using data from GOSAT, the Japanese Greenhouse Gasses Observing Satellite, have created a global map of plant florescence, a plant byproduct of photosynthesis. This new information now provides science with many new tools with which understand plants and view them under a different light. (pun intended)

Thanks for the link, Jerry, really fascinating!

I myself am a firm believer in the fact that plants are very complex and clever little (in some cases not so "little") beings.

I had no idea they emitted this fluorescent glow, so I've learnt yet another amazing fact about my green friends.:stew1:
