I got this little fern several years ago and it has performed as advertised "stayed the size to fit on my table". Could anyone help to start me on the correct road to figure out what kind of fern it is?

I have really enjoyed it. (Doesn't need to be divided regularly, maintains small size over long period of time - even now it is only 12"x12", performs well with minimal care.) Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :)

Ooh I love that one too. Looks kinda 'kinky' :D :D Have you googled small kinky ferns. What color is on the edge?

Your fern looks very familiar Jewell. I think it may be Asplenium scolopendrium/Hart's tongue fern.

I'm gonna guess and say that it may be in the genus Pteris judging from the sori pattern. :-? Maybe it will help with ID.

What a great little fern. And a house plant too. I like the looks of that one and I'll have to keep my eyes open for one of those also.

Thanks everyone for the info. It really helped me to discover what type of fern it was. It's a Pteris cretica (Common names: Table or Brake Fern). I didn't realize that "Table Fern" was actually part of the common name . There were a lot of pictures on one site of similar ferns that were also at the nursery (just different cultivars). Guessing this one is the cultivar 'Maxii', but will have to do more research to make sure.
