Ponderosa lemons

After getting 2 years of green (not ripe). I finally got one this year.
Its bigger then my hand :-D .

Thanks... I didn't do anything different. It takes up 3 years to mature. This year the tree loss almost all its leaves and very few lemons. I'm going to try coffee grounds. That works on my banana tree.

 

OMGD! im having this problem with my lemon tree. the fruits are HUGE on it but they are staying green and have been for about 2 months now.. does this mean they arent going to turn yellow? what do i do with the green ones? pick em off? let em get bigger? maybe theyll turn yellow eventually? im so glad to see this topic! ill post a pic of what they look like right now.

 

Mine took 3 years to mature was told that is normal some take up to 5. So 1 out of 3 years was worth it because for 2 years I picked them and put them in the garbage disposable, pot with a little water on low heat, and popery them. They smell so good. :idea: they are good for the compost I stared. I let them stay on as long as can be

 

ooh.. ok.. wow... i cant imagine them being on there for even another year. they are SO big already and weighing the tree down

we only just got it this year....its about 4 feet tall... in a pot.... ill have to post the pic

 

I'm sorry... The tree has to mature not the lemons. So the first few years they will stay green. I Just pull them off and used them

NO, they do NOT taste good green yuck. Thats why I use them to make the house smell good you can
1) Put them in the garbage disposable and run it.
2) Cut up one. Put them in a pot with a little water on low heat smell last for hours.
This way no waste. Just some options for you.

 

wow really? and you got a yellow lemon and i dont? hm.... maybe theres still a chance it will turn yellow this season? what do you think? pick or not pick?
i dont have a garbage disposal.. i think i can try the pot pourri.. that would smell gooood :-D

 

Wow those are huge lemons!! I use orange slices and cinnamon sticks simmered over low heat to make my house smell good!!

 

I would leave them on a little longer, it is still early in the summer and my satsumas are still green. They will not mature till the fall. If they are not hurting the tree, leave them on.
