It seems by what I hear and sometimes see, there is a very high risk of some 'stewbies' lapsing into a deep depression around this time every year. I will not mention names of course! Maybe a few spring time photos from the other end of the world might help in delaying that traumatic event...... Orchids are usually first to appear ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Almost there ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Made it! ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Dont forget the hippies ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Anthuriums seem to be there all year. ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Found seedlings under mother plant this year. ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Few more babies. ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Australian rock orchid and variegated euphorbia in the foreground ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Tassell fern ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Tillandsia ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Potted begonia ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Strongylodon macrobotrys/jade vine ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) The jade vine is quite rare her, specially in flower, it should take about 6-7yrs to flower but my vine is barely 2yr old and it is my pride and joy just now. Next week a busload of garden club members are visiting to see the flowers. hope the wind is not going to smash it too much, the racemes can grow to 5-6ft long, these are about 3ft, maybe next year it will be more mature and produce the length. Will this be enough for now? If symptons don't disappear repeat treatment.
thank you will refer often to beautiful flowers in the gloomy winter months ahead is it spring yet? lol
Ahhh just what I needed as everything here is going into hibernation. Keep posting pictures like this and I'll make it through until spring!!
Thanks Chocolate! I am just about to put my garden to bed for the winter. Your blooms & plants are both beautiful & unusual to my eyes. Thank you.
chocolate, Breath taking. Thank you so very much. You have made my day. I have allot of different Euphorbia but not one variegated. I must do something about that. I also have the Tassel Fern. Mine is one foot long shoot. Now I must go out and transplant that little sucker and see if I can make it fill out. I first say this plant at Longwood Gardens in Philadelphia, Pa. I had my little shoot within a week. Hoping our 'friend from down under' will continue to take us for a walk through her growing season. That will surely take our blues away. Thanks.
Very cheering, and I'm not even "garden depressed". I've only seen anthuriums as house plants, and your's self-seed!
Everything looks other world like,..and beautiful,..i love that Jade Vine,..it will be VERY impressive when matured.
Chocolate, save us! You are our only hope! You know after 500 posts you earn a special title on the Stew? May I suggest 'Dedicated Winter Colour Poster'
Very nice group of fotos. It is always so delightful to see your piccies depicting plants from down there. I shall look at these several times.
Thanks Chocolate, we will be counting on you to keep us from sinking into the winter blues! But- did you have to remind us??
I'm always delighted to see your photos. You have things that alot of folks struggle with even as a houseplant. Those orchids for instance. Fabulous! And that Jade vine. Wow... don't think I've ever seen that before. I can see why you are so proud of it. Hopefully it'll bloom for you soon. I'd love to be on the tour coming to your gardens!
